85-ročná Katarína žije v najbombardovanejšej časti Charkova – Saltyvka. Žije tam, odkedy sa v 60. rokoch vydala za svojho manžela. Vtedy sa presťahovali z dediny do mesta Charkov, aby si našli lepšiu prácu a vychovávali deti. Katarína očakávala, že to najhoršie príde v zime. Ešte v októbri vravela: „Šesť mesiacov nejem chlieb. Chcem byť pripravená, keď nebude jedlo. Chcem byť schopná prežiť aj bez chleba“. Charita Charkov v spolupráci so Spišskou katolíckou charitou jej pomohla s jedlom, prikrývkami a pravidelnými týždennými zásobami.

85 year old Katarina is living at the most bombed part of Kharkiv – Saltyvka. She’s been living there since she married her husband back in the 60s when they moved from the village to the city of Kharkiv to get a better job and raise children. Katarína expected that the worst would come in the winter. Back in October, she said: „I haven’t eaten bread for six months. I want to be ready when there is no food. I want to be able to survive even without bread.“ Caritas Kharkiv in cooperation with Caritas Spis has helped her with food, blankets and she will be receiving regular weekly supplies.
